In short

In 2026 Vertvista supplied and installed artificial green walls on five faces of a tower at Prestige 101, BKC, Mumbai, for Prestige Group. Each wall is about 79 m high, and together they cover more than 3,000 m². Fire-retardant artificial foliage sits on galvanised steel mesh, held on brackets whose anchors are sealed so the tower's waterproofing stays intact, and sections can be taken down and reused. Our crews installed it from the building's BMU while the site around it was still under construction. As far as we know, it is the tallest artificial green wall in India.

The brief

Prestige Group wanted five faces of the tower covered in artificial greenery, end to end and to the full height, dense enough that the wall behind never shows.

  • No damage to the waterproofing or the finished wall
  • Sections that can come down later and be reused elsewhere
  • Work from the building’s BMU, reached through a live construction site
  • Five full-size samples, each 2 × 3 m, before the final choice

The design that went up: deep, three-dimensional foliage in several greens, with yellow rings and arcs drawn big enough to read from the street.

How we built it

  • Samples firstFive full-size sample panels, each 2 × 3 m, went up on site, so the client chose the foliage, density and colours at full scale.
  • A fixing that keeps the wall watertightHot-dip galvanised brackets sit on stainless-steel rods set 100 mm deep in chemical anchors, and every anchor is sealed. Nylon washers keep the galvanised and stainless steel apart, so they do not corrode each other in Mumbai’s salty air, and neoprene washers take up vibration from the wind.
  • Fire-retardant foliage on steel meshTiles of fire-retardant artificial foliage, 50 × 50 cm each, are tied to 3 mm galvanised welded mesh with hog rings, laid dense enough that no mesh or wall shows through.
  • Installed from the BMUOur crews worked from the building’s BMU cradle, bay by bay, reaching the tower through a construction site that was still busy around it.
  • Made to come downEvery part is mechanically fixed, so sections can be taken down and reused elsewhere, as the brief asked.

Living or artificial, at this height?

Both can be built. A living wall this tall needs irrigation, drainage and gardeners on a cradle every month. Artificial foliage needs no water and no light: only a periodic clean and a check of the fixings, done from the BMU.

We help clients weigh the two, wall by wall, from the light, the access and how long the wall must last.

Frequently asked

How tall is the artificial green wall at Prestige 101, BKC?

Each of the five walls is about 79 m high. Together they cover more than 3,000 m² of the tower.

Is it the tallest artificial green wall in India?

As far as we know, yes. We have not found an artificial green wall in India that rises higher than 79 m.

What is it made of?

Tiles of fire-retardant artificial foliage, 50 × 50 cm each, tied to 3 mm galvanised welded mesh. The mesh is held on hot-dip galvanised brackets fixed to stainless-steel rods in sealed chemical anchors.

How was it installed at that height?

By our own crews, from the building’s BMU cradle, bay by bay, after the client chose from five full-size samples on site.

Does an artificial green wall need maintenance?

No water, light or pruning. It needs a periodic clean and a check of the fixings; on a tower, that is done from the BMU.

Can you build one on our building?

Yes. Send us the elevations and a few photos of the walls. We check the structure and the access, then propose a fixing method and a design.

Planning a green wall on a facade?

Send the elevations, the height and a few photos. We will come back with a fixing method, a design and a time for a site visit.
