Misting systems

Misting systems for terraces, courtyards and plants.

High-pressure mist that cools outdoor seating in dry heat and keeps ferns, mosses and tropical planting humid, designed with your irrigation and installed by our own crews.

In short

Vertvista designs, supplies, installs and maintains high-pressure misting systems in India, for cooling outdoor seating, terraces and courtyards and for raising humidity around ferns, mosses, tropical planting and green walls. A pump at about 70 bar pushes filtered water through fine nozzles, making droplets small enough to evaporate before they settle. Misting cools best in dry heat; in humid coastal air the effect is smaller, so we design zones and run-times for the local climate.

Uses
Outdoor cooling, humidity for plants
System
High-pressure pump, filtration, high-pressure lines, fine nozzles
Controls
Zones on timers, humidity or temperature sensors
Care
Nozzle, filter and pump checks under an AMC

Where misting works

Cooling

Outdoor seating and terraces

Cafés, breakout terraces and food courts that are too hot to use on summer afternoons.

Arrival

Courtyards and forecourts

Entrances, drop-offs and waiting areas, with lines run along a pergola or canopy edge.

Plants

Humidity for planting

Ferns, mosses, orchids, tropical beds, shade houses and green walls that dry out in summer air.

Paludariums and more

How a high-pressure system works

  • PumpA high-pressure pump, typically running at about 70 bar, sized to the number of nozzles and zones.
  • Water treatmentFilters, and a softener where the water is hard, so the nozzles do not scale up or leave white marks.
  • Lines and nozzlesHigh-pressure nylon or stainless lines with fine nozzles and anti-drip valves. Most droplets are 10 to 20 microns across, small enough to evaporate in the air instead of wetting the floor.
  • ControlsZones on solenoid valves, run on timers or on humidity and temperature sensors.
  • With the irrigationWe design misting and irrigation as one water plan, sharing filtration and controls where it makes sense.

Climate decides how much it cools

Mist cools the air as it evaporates, so it works best where the air is dry. We size the zones and run-times for your city, and tell you what to expect before you buy.

Summer airCitiesWhat misting does
Hot and dryDelhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, PuneStrong cooling of outdoor seating on summer afternoons
MildBengaluruComfort on the warmest days, and humidity for plants
Hot and humidMumbai, ChennaiModest cooling, as humid air takes up little more water; best for plants and short cycles

Care

  • NozzlesChecked and descaled on a schedule; blocked nozzles replaced.
  • Filters and waterFilters changed and the softener kept topped up, so the water stays clean.
  • Pump and linesPressure, leaks and valves checked, and the system flushed after idle periods so no water stands in the lines.

Frequently asked

Will misting wet the floor and furniture?

Not when it is designed and run correctly. High-pressure mist evaporates in the air; low-pressure garden misters with bigger droplets do wet surfaces. Nozzle spacing, wind and run-times matter too.

Does misting work in Mumbai's humidity?

It cools less, because humid air takes up little more water. In Mumbai and Chennai we use misting mainly for plants and for short cycles on hot afternoons, and we say so before you buy.

What water does a misting system need?

Clean, potable water. Hard water is softened or filtered first, or the nozzles scale up and leave white marks on surfaces.

Is misting hygienic?

Yes, when it is designed and run well: potable water, no water left standing in tanks or lines, and a flush after idle periods. We design to these rules and service the system under an AMC.

Can misting be added to an existing terrace or pergola?

Usually, yes. Lines run along beams, pergolas or canopy edges, with the pump in a utility area. We survey the power, water and drainage first.

Do you install misting with irrigation and landscaping?

Yes. We design misting, drip irrigation and planting together, so they share filtration, controls and maintenance.
